The United States and Iran have reached an outline agreement to extend their ceasefire pending the approval of Trump, Axios reported on Thursday.

The agreement will state how to ⁠address Iran's ⁠stockpile of highly enriched uranium, which will be among the first ​issues discussed during the 60-day window, according to an earlier report by Axios,

U.S. and Iranian negotiators reached a tentative agreement Thursday to extend the ceasefire in the 3-month-old war by 60 days and start a new round of talks on Iran.

The U.S. Treasury announced late Wednesday that it has sanctioned an Iranian entity, newly created to oversee and manage the Strait of Hormuz.

President Trump has yet to sign off on an extension of the cease-fire that would allow the two sides to negotiate nuclear and other issues.

The target was an Iranian ground control station in the port city of Bandar Abbas that was about to launch a drone, the official added.

Vice President JD Vance said Thursday the U.S. and Iran are "very close" to a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that would extend the ceasefire by 60 days, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and launch talks on limiting Tehran's nuclear program.
